Today's workplace comprises a multigenerational workforce with diverse experiences and assumptions about work and work place attitude. This study explores leadership styles catering to Gen X and Gen Y in organizations, focusing on their co-existence and collaboration despite inherent differences in perspectives and exposure. Leadership plays a crucial role in harmonizing these generations by fostering creativity, collaboration, and innovation while driving organizations toward mutually shared goals. Using an interpretive phenomenology research design, this empirical paper investigates the challenges and opportunities in leadership approaches for these generational cohorts. Data were collected from companies using structured questionnaires with open-ended questions, enabling leaders to share their lived experiences. Findings reveal that Gen X and Gen Y leadership styles are distinct but must align to achieve organizational objectives. Leaders must act as uniting and unifying forces, leveraging intergenerational synergy to promote adaptability and dynamism at workplace for holistic development. The study offers significant theoretical and practical insights into the dynamics of multigenerational workplaces. It highlights the necessity for adaptable leadership styles that respect generational differences while fostering unity. Future research could expand on this study's findings by exploring other generational cohorts or diverse cultural contexts.
