Dr. Shilpi Chakravarty & Dr. Iti Gaur

The tourism sector is seeing an unparalleled expansion because of the convergence of the Internet and the increasing patterns of travel. E-tourism refers to the digital transformation of the entire tourism industry, encompassing many aspects such as processes, value chains, infrastructure, services, and auxiliary sectors, with the aim of optimising efficiency and effectiveness. The introduction of ICTs in the tourism sector has been driven by the globalisation of the industry over the past four decades. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can enhance the level of happiness among visitors by offering them pre-trip details on tourist attractions and enabling them to directly communicate with vendors, acquire precise information, and secure the most affordable prices. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has enhanced the competitiveness of the global tourism industry by facilitating the provision of pre-trip information on tourist sites, enabling direct communication between tourists and merchants, ensuring the availability of correct information, and facilitating the acquisition of the most cost-effective prices. The proliferation of search engines, more transport capacity, and faster network connections have led to a surge in the number of foreign travellers who rely on technology to plan and record their journeys. E-tourism mitigates the effects of seasonality, enhances consumer communication, and enhances the number of reservations and sales. ICT has an impact on how customer behaviour is managed and on the development of future marketing models. In this study we will discuss the different trends of E-tourism along with case study of countries. This paper also provides a light on how these new development provide customer satisfaction in tourism sector.
