"This study examines the impact of four-wave mixing (FWM) on the performance of single-mode fibers (SMF). Using Optsim simulation software, a dispersion-compensating fiber (DCF) was implemented with varying dispersion and pulse intervals to analyze FWM behavior. The results show improved performance when power management techniques and time-domain delays are applied. The system's performance was evaluated using Q-factor and bit error rate (BER) metrics. "The system's performance was evaluated using Q-factor and bit error rate (BER) metrics."
