The present paper is showing the present day trends of deposit mobilization and also the reasons for declining trend of bank deposits. Commercial banks should adopt a three-pronged strategy to sustain growth of deposits against rough and tough competition from other instruments. The banking sector should make efforts to garner from segments of the population which have remained virtually untapped.
