India is a sovereign, secular, democratic country. It has emerged as the main economy with the fastest rate of growth in the entire world, ranking fifth in terms of nominal GDP(Fund, 2020).According to research, more than half of the increase in urban population can be ascribed to either rural-to-urban migration or the reclassification of rural regions as urban (Pradhan, 2017). Due to the severe strain on urban infrastructure, the rising trend of rural-urban migration in search of better job opportunities causes migrants to live in unhygienic and impoverished conditions. Additionally, it leaves a void in the process of rural areas' economic growth. Therefore, revitalizing the rural economy is a prerequisite to preventing unplanned migration from rural to urban areas and ensuring better socioeconomic conditions.
