GROWTH OF ECONOMY: A CURSE TO THE ENVIRONMENT

Today’s market economy is basically focuses on the efficiency and the location of the technical resources and gives a very least importance to management of inefficiencies which are the part of basic natural and environmental resources. As a result of this society will not be able to get the all benefits if those alternatives are used which are least pollution generating resources. At the same time the concept of optimality or use of the optimal resources does not need to be taken care adequately of the sustainability in the actual world and their economies. Sustainability is a kind of the concept which requires consideration of posterity starting from the 1950s with the increasing demand for environmental protection. Resources and making the economical resources and environmental resources worst has attracted. The attention of various researchers in making the evaluation of the negative impact of economic activities on environment is key consideration, if we look into the expansion and growth process. At the beginnings of 20thcentury the economic activities were heading towards least environment effect with a major focus on agriculture activities but at the later stage with the expansion to the excessive extraction and with the use of natural resources. The damage the environment has increased the economical. World is directly or indirectly connected with the natural environment and that is why the pollution and the use of the resources are variably interconnected and always a matter of consideration for macro and micro economist. Right from the beginning of economic era this realisation has taken the tension of political interferences and policy making towards the environment both at international and national level. Across the all centuries scarcity of the resources as well as the natural resources pollution has gained a momentum that economy is largely depends upon the energy and ecological services which are provided in the natural aspect while the neoclassical growth models focus is majorly on the capital and labour intensity. The major focus is on economical process which has been completely ignored in environmental protection aspect. In modern growth theories on the other hand undoubtedly accepts the importance of human capital and technological advancements but simultaneously concentrates on the natural resources and environmental aspects because of involvement of growth and development process. Considering all these aspects in the head, the present study is in addition to the available literature on various economical studies conducted right from the traditional approach but in modern aspects which deals with the optimum expansion of development resources and development process. The recent study conducted basically emphasises on the economic process and environmental conservation which is not only fruitful in the long run but also helps in the sustainable development of environment for the growth.
