DEMOCRACY AND GOOD GOVERNANCE

The importance of governance has been clearly underlined in the Indian Constitution, which is based on a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic. Also committed to democracy, rule of law and welfare of the people. Looking at the history of ancient India, it is known that Manu Kautilya, Shukra and beyond that Gokhale, Tilak etc. have also thrown light on the subject of good governance. Manu's "Manusmriti", Kautilya's "Arthasastra", both the king's works considering public welfare as important, the concept of Su-Raj, which essentially means good governance, was given by Mahatma Gandhi. In the context of Indian scriptures If the meaning of good governance is searched, then Bhagavad Gita refers to good governance, management, leadership, dutifulness and self-power several times which can be reinterpreted in modern context as well and similarly Shukra's Shukraneeti, Bhatrihari's policy and Vishnu Sharma Various parts of good governance have also been highlighted in 'Hitopadesh Mitralabh' written by. Talking about the modern era, different types of international organizations like UNESCO, United Nations, WHO, International Human Rights Commission have also adopted good governance. Looking at the Indian scenario, National Commission for Minorities, National Commission for Children, Women and Child Development Commission have also thrown a detailed light on this subject.
