Every Country develops its own system of education to express and promote its Socio-Cultural uniqueness and also to face the challenges of the times. Although the country has made speedy and continuous progress in various areas like scientific technology, economic infrastructure etc. but its value system has been declined. Therefore, value education possesses a significant place in modern perspective of contemporary time. Value education is rooted in Indian philosophy, culture and in-built in every tradition of Indian culture. Educational organizations play an important role in the promotion of value. The Vedas and Upanishads are source of inspiration for value education. In the Vedic period, In Ashram education, the Guru gives his sishya to follow certain values throughout his life. Value education is the collection of all the procedure like a person develops capabilities, approaches and other forms of behaviour of the positive values in the society in which he lives. We conclude from this research paper “Value-education is the only power that can not only rid us of the darkness of problems, but also can give us the light of leading a happy, healthy and successful life.”
